♫ Rhythm & Style

The most common question I get about lead guitar is “How can I make my solo sound more natural and musical, less square and boring?” It seems like this should be an easy problem to solve. Just add some slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends, and rhythmic patterns of course!

The thing is, that doesn’t really solve the problem for most people. After a lot of trial and error, my guitar students and I have discovered what we think is the easiest and most efficient way to play more natural and musical solos.

Got any ideas for great solos we should learn, or ways to address this problem? Reply to one of my emails and let me know. It’s very helpful to hear other perspectives on this topic!
